The world market in August increased by 3%
14/09/2017The world market in August increased by 2.7% to 7 million 249 thousand passenger and light commercial vehicles. Cleared of seasonality, the annual rate of sales, calculated from the results of last month amounted to 95 million 068 thousand. In the first eight months of 2017 the sales of cars in the world increased by 2.8% to 61 million 419 thousand units, says the data received by AUTOSTAT Agency in a consulting company LMC Automotive. World leader in the sales of cars saves China, where in August it was sold 2 million 161 thousand cars (+2.9 percent). The second largest world market remains America with an index of 1 million 482 thousand (-1,9%). Car sales in Western Europe increased by 3.1% and amounted to 907,3 thousand units. The car markets of Eastern European countries also continue to show growth last month by 10.6% to 331,7 thousand cars. It is worth while to note that the Russian car market in August continued to show high growth which is expected to persist until the end of the year thanks to the recently launched new measures to stimulate demand and improve economic situation in the country. In South America the local dealers sold 291,1 thousand cars, that on 17,5% more than in August last year. Among the world's largest car markets it is necessary to mention Japan (355,3 thousand units, +7%), Canada (183,9 thousand units, +7%) and Korea (136,3 thousand units, +12.1 percent).
